Fleurop at the Swiss Indoors, October 24–November 1, 2026, in Basel

He would have loved to keep playing forever. But in Basel, it’s all over for three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka. Swiss tennis fans will thus be treated to a historic event and a fitting tribute to this exceptional athlete as part of Super Monday on October 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. An emotional evening full of memories, surprises, and magical moments from the Vaud native’s career awaits spectators. Over the next few days of the tournament, you’ll get to see «Stan the Man» live once again. You will witness one last time his indomitable fighting spirit and his one-handed backhand, which will go down in history as one of the most beautiful shots in the history of the ATP Tour.

In the 1960s, global tennis was not even a vision in Switzerland. But in 1970, thanks to founder and president Roger Brennwald, the first edition of the forerunner of the Swiss Indoors was held in a temporary air hall and advanced from a small tennis tournament to Switzerland's biggest sporting event. This not least thanks to tennis legend Björn Borg, who took part in 1977 and literally made the tournament «explode».

The Swiss Indoors have seen quite a few stories. Probably the most famous: Roger Federer, who once started out as a ball boy at the Swiss Indoors Basel, is now the most successful player in the event's history, having won ten titles in his hometown. But of course, Switzerland's leading sporting event boasts an impressive list of former champions, including Ivan Lendl, John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, and Pete Sampras.

Fleurop likes it sporty and fast. That's why the largest flower delivery network sought contact with the Swiss Indoors early on. Starting in 2015, this was still in the form of small sponsorship in kind. But already in 2019, the opportunity of a larger appearance presented itself. At that time, the «Männerpflanze» brand was relatively new. That's why over 300 plants for men adorned the stadium and created a buzz among tennis fans. In 2020 and 2021, the tournament was canceled due to pandemic. But in 2022, the yellow felt ball flew again. New life was breathed into the partnership between Fleurop and the Swiss Indoors, and Fleurop became Official Supplier. This year, however, tournament visitors will not only admire the beautiful plants for men, but also cosmopolitan flower boxes. Finally, the popular giant flower wall will be on display again — for souvenir photos that really stand out.

Speaking of the flower wall: It measures nearly 9 square meters in size, is covered with over 3,000 individual flowers, and features the Swiss Indoors logo. So far, the masterpiece created by master florist Marc Müller (The BLOOMERY) and his team was hogged by people taking selfies and sharing them on social media. This will be the case again this year.
