On the first Sunday after Halloween, a pumpkin event takes place at the Hardhof in Wildegg. It will take place on November 2 with the already legendary Pumpkin Chunkin. There are not only the disciplines of long throw and target long throw, but also the «free class» as the supreme discipline, in which the participants compete with self-built devices such as catapults, slingshots, cannons and the like. Children also have fun. Pumpkins are hidden in a haystack for them to find. There is also a bouncy castle.

Küssnachter Klausjagen, 4 December 2026, 6403 Küssnacht a. Rigi
The Küssnachter Klausjagen is one of the most ancient and impressive St. Nicholas traditions in Europe. On the evening of St. Nicholas' Eve, the village of Küssnacht am Rigi on Lake Lucerne glows with the light of about two hundred cardboard bishop's miters, lit by candles. These Iffele (bishop's miters) are carried by the men who accompany St. Nicholas on his journey through the village. The streets are full of activity: the ringing of heavy bells carried in the hands of sturdy men, the sound of horns and above all the special rhythm of the fanfares.

St. Nicholas Swim, 6 December 2026, 8001 Zurich
A somewhat unusual - but even more popular - tradition is the St. Nicholas Swim. Hardened swimmers in Santa Claus costumes plunge into the Limmat every December. It is truly the coolest event in Zurich. Since 2024, the event has been taking place in the city center again. From Pier 7, the participants swim to the Frauenbad Stadthausquai. Some even swim with the charity ticket and/or the Avenergy Extra Loup. The atmosphere is great in both places, which is also due to the homemade barley soup that is served each time. Since 2011, Zürileu swimming events have been pursuing a mission: to support an organization that cares for people who are not on the sunny side of life. The buyers of a charity ticket support the chosen organization directly with an additional price.
