March 20 - Day of Happiness and the beginning of spring
Are you happy? Do you make others happy? March 20 is Happiness Day and therefore a good time to think about happiness and enjoy the start of spring.

«Day of Happiness» on March 20 - are you happy?
In 2012, the United Nations decided to establish an International Day of Happiness and set it on March 20 worldwide.
This is to remind us that the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human need. But happiness is not destiny.
It is rather our attitude to life, the recognition of small moments of happiness in everyday life. Are you happy?
Stop for a moment and ask yourself what makes you happy. But be careful. Many things seem obvious to us, but they are not.
In view of the world around us, we should also ask ourselves whether our expectations of happiness are perhaps too high and whether we should simply be more grateful for what we have.

Let's be there for each other!
Many people find it difficult to be happy. That's why this year's motto is: «Be there for each other and share.» Let's remember this when we think about our positive points or happy moments.
Because peace, health, a secure job, food, clean water, a functioning healthcare system, a loving family and reliable friends cannot be taken for granted.
So, let's be grateful for what we have - and share with those who are less fortunate.

What we can do
Have you already given a colleague a smile today? A sincere and appreciative compliment or encouraging word makes people happy.
But other simple measures can also contribute to the happiness of others and strengthen the community.
For example, listen when friends, family members or acquaintances say something and don't judge them. Offer to help someone.
This all contributes to the well-being of others and: don't think too much, just get active.
Above all, don't forget that flowers also make people happy, especially when they are given completely unexpectedly.

Spring - a time of euphoria, falling in love and just being happy
In spring, it's easy to be happy: the days are getting longer, the sun is back, and the colorful spring flowers are everywhere. No wonder we change too.
We feel full of energy and make new plans. The reason? It's simple: when it's light for longer, our bodies release less melatonin. This makes us more alert.
At the same time, the level of mood-boosting hormones rises.
This explains our feelings of happiness in spring and the fact that we fall in love more quickly. When you consider that March 20 is also International Day of Happiness, it's a perfect match.
