Flowering branches in a vase are pure spring feeling

Flowering branches are sometimes available as early as February, They are wonderful eye-catchers because they are rarely seen and show us spring from its most delicate side.
Spring-like flower dreams fresh from the tree
In spring, Japan celebrates the cherry blossom festival Hanami. But don't panic if a trip there is not possible! You can also experience the magic of the blossom branches at home by decorating with cherry blossoms and other branches. Forsythia, corkscrew hazel, magnolias, cherry and apple tree branches are particularly popular.

When can you look forward to which branches?
Of course, not all branches are available at the same time, as both the flowering times of the tree and shrub species and the weather play a role. It is best to look around your garden or ask your trusted florist. Flowering branches are already available from February. Magnolias bloom the latest.
Flowering branches care tips
Handy care tips for a long vase life
Flowering branches from Fleurop partner stores are always ready to use. If you cut the branches yourself or do not receive them ready to put in a vase, remove all leaves and side shoots that would reach into the water when put in a vase. Before placing them in water, cut the branches diagonally with a sharp knife or pruning shears (approx. 5 cm cut surface) and split thicker stems for better water absorption.  Place them in lukewarm water and spray them occasionally with an atomizer. Every time you change the water, you should cut the flower branches again and clean the vase. Place the vase in a cool, bright place, away from direct sunlight and draughts.
Vases that set the scene for branches
Choose tall and stable vases, ideally made of glass or ceramic, as these are easy to clean. A wide opening provides sufficient space for the branches and makes it easier for them to absorb water. The shape of the vase is also crucial: tall, narrow vases are suitable for long branches, while bulbous vessels are better for shorter and branched stems. Make sure that the vase has sufficient capacity to provide the branches with a constant supply of water. Large, heavy branches, such as those of the magnolia, are particularly effective in a floor vase.
Decorative options with flowering branches
In a beautiful vase, flowering branches also look great on their own. However, forsythia and corkscrew hazel can be perfectly combined with spring flowers. The spiral branches of the corkscrew hazel also offer numerous decorative possibilities, for example with Easter eggs. Last but not least, the branches of the corkscrew hazel are also popular because they last for years when dried without losing their attractiveness.
