Gottlieber Hüppen have been known and loved in the Thurgau village of Gottlieben for a long time. Even Napoleon III, who later became Emperor of France,
was an enthusiastic fan of the delicate Gottlieber specialty when he lived at Arenenberg Castle with his mother, Queen Hortense Bonaparte, who was living in exile.
